Pollen forecasts for iPhone and iPad

What is in the air today.

Pollenwarte shows the pollen in the air the way it looks under a microscope: grain by grain, each species in its own shape.

Today

Pollen, as under a microscope.

The home screen is a field of view, like a microscope slide. The grains of your selection drift in it, each species drawn as its real grain at its real relative size, as many as the value earns.

Below it: the strongest species with its value and level, its day with the quietest window, and all your species with the next four days.

The Today screen: a sentence about the strongest species, the round field of view holding the grains of the selection, then the strongest species with its value and level and its course over the day.
Today

Species

Every species on its own sheet.

Each species has its own sheet: the grain magnified, its size and structure, the current value on its threshold ladder, four days hour by hour, the DWD values and the flowering season.

Values come from the European CAMS model in pollen per cubic metre of air, served through Open-Meteo, for alder, birch, grass, mugwort, olive and ragweed. In Germany the Deutscher Wetterdienst pollen hazard index is shown alongside, adding hazel, ash and rye.

A species sheet: the grain magnified beside a drawing of the plant, the common and Latin names, and the current value on the threshold ladder.

Diary and analysis

A pattern, not a diagnosis.

Log the day with one tap on “Log today”, with an optional 8 pm reminder. The diary keeps symptoms, severity and notes; the month shows them as dots whose size carries the severity.

The analysis says in one sentence which species was in the air more on your worse days — and that this is a pattern in your entries, not a diagnosis. How it is calculated is one tap away.

The diary: a sentence about the month, the month as a grid of dots whose size shows how bad the symptoms were, and the entries as rows.
Diary
The analysis: a sentence on which species was in the air more on the worse days, the note “A pattern in your entries, not a diagnosis”, and the days compared.
Analysis

Air

The air beside the pollen.

Particulate matter, ozone and nitrogen dioxide from the model, compared with the World Health Organization’s guideline levels. One sentence names what is above them, or says that nothing is — a comparison with guideline levels, not a health rating.

The Air page: a sentence on today’s values against the WHO guideline levels, and a row per pollutant with its current value and its course over the day.

Lexicon

Read up, with a source.

The pollen lexicon explains pollen and allergy in short articles, each with a named source. Beside them, the nine species, each with its grain and its flowering months.

The lexicon: the nine species as a grid of drawn pollen grains, and below them the articles as rows with a title and a one-line preview.
